Subject: Replacement order system
What are other libraries using for an order request system to handle
items that fall outside their
book approval plan? Did you develop something locally or are you using a
purchased or free
system? I don't need a lengthy response, just some ideas for what other
libraries are doing
would be great.
Our locally developed book order system runs under Lotus Notes and will
need replacing
because Lotus Notes is going away on our campus. The current system
allows
librarian/selectors to submit firm order requests to Acquisitions. The
system also does
simple fund code calculations, showing how much each selector has
ordered through this
system.
p.s. We are an Endeavor/Voyager library.
Thanks,
Barbara
