Subject: RE - Acquisitions Policies

As a follow-up to my earlier posting, asking for examples of
acquisitions policies:

I heard from quite a few people, but everyone was asking to see the
examples - and nobody sent any examples. After consulting a few books,
and cruising through some acquisitions department web pages (thanks to
AcqWeb for making this easy), I concluded that such policies are rare.
Our Policies and Procedures Committee has decided that most of the
issues should be handled in a procedure within our team, not in a
library-wide policy. (There are some issues that are already covered in

the library-wide ethics policy).
