Subject: Price WaterhouseCoopers Doing Business In...
One of our Reference Librarians asked about the currency of one of the
Price WaterhouseCoopers titles which is part of the "Doing business in...
[your country here]" series. As far as we could tell, we were getting this
for
free, but can not find any trail as to where or how! To further
complicate
matters, no one at Price Waterhouse Coopers seems to have a clue
as to how we are getting it, if the series still exists, etc. etc. So far
we have tried:
--following the directions on publications web page: "To obtain pricing for
University and College Libraries, students or public libraries please call
1-800-579-1646." Only one woman will answer the phone and she knows
nothing about accounts or costs and cannot transfer you to someone who
can. I tried faxing using the following information: "If you prefer to fax
your
order, please use (1) 646-394-1327. Visa, MasterCard and American
Express is accepted." This transpired March 26, 2003 with no response.
--we have tracked down the number for the PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP
in Seattle and called them at 206-398-3000. I was transferred to Denise
Stephens who could not tell me anything about a past or current account,
but could fax me a list of the "Doing Business Guide" titles and the last
dates
published for each title.
-- we contacted the University of Washington (and other libraries in the
area) who also carry this series, and asked who they talked to concerning
their account. The phone number the UW gave us was also out of date.
The UW and other local libraries seem to be having the same problem
getting information about this series.
-- we contacted our account manager at EBSCO and asked if she might
know of who to call and she referred me to the number I started with on the
web page.
Everything seems to be a dead end, and/or leads you back to the same
1-800 number, or the Seattle rep. If there is someone out there who can
either:
a.) Tell us if the "Doing Business in..." series is still active, OR, if
this has been a title change to "Doing Business & investing in...." or
b.) Give us some a lead to someone in Price WaterhouseCoopers who
knows what is going on?
Please send responses to Wendy Schroedel, Sr. Library Tech-Serials,
schroew_at_seattleu.edu (206-296-6202)
Any leads will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks
