Subject: Subject-based ledgers

Greetings,

A thank you to everyone for the wonderful information I received in
response to the Amazon.com question. [Back in November 2002] It was all
very
helpful. FYI, given our current needs, we decided against the corporate
account.

I'm wondering if anyone on the list is using a ledger structure where
each
fund is subject based, as opposed to format based? We currently have
funds
earmarked for periodicals, newspapers, monographs, electronic resources
and
microfilm. Titles are purchased using a particular fund regardless of
subject matter. There is one primary ledger for the entire library
materials budget.

If you're using subject based funds in your ILS ledger, any comments or
feedback you would like to share about it would be appreciated. You may
reply directly to me.

Thanks again,

Yvonne Duke
