Subject: RE: Soliciting information about Bowker Direct and Books in Print

I've worked with BIP on CD-ROM, online from OCLC, and online from
Gale, and I do prefer Bowkers BIP online. There's a log of information
given, publisher addresses, reviews, biographies, etc.. It also has a
quick and an advanced search capability which is very usable. The
software can be temperamental, but has improved. Compared with what
I've used, I like it. There was a more expensive version, which I
discovered just as they made the decision to go with Bowker's BIP
online, but I don't know if it's still out there. I did just look for
my notes, and couldn't find them--it has been a few years. If possible,
I'd recommend trying any and all BIP versions you could, with the same
searches and see which one you prefer.
