Subject: Re - Amazon.com corporate account
I faxed Amazon Corporate Accounts a compilation of comments about them
from the ACQNET list. I *thought* the customer service department might
take interest in what the acquisitions community has to say. There seemed to
be a strong consensus among us regarding Amazon- most of us are happy
with the speed and selection, and most of us have had problems with the
billing.
I promptly received a phone message in which an Amazon rep made very
scripted-sounding remarks telling me they received my comments, but
the corporate account is a credit account, just like a credit card, and
payment
is expected within 30 days. Period.
I urge anyone with opinions on this to give Amazon your feedback (whether
they want it or not). Let them know if the billing problems are steering you
away from using Amazon. Let them know you would buy more and recommend
the service to others IF the billing were improved. Maybe if they hear it
enough,
they will start a "Library Accounts" option, or give longer grace periods
before
canceling orders, or start sending invoices with the items someday!
