I have had such an experience with other vendors. My Purchasing
department tells me that unless they have a purchase order number on
their invoice from us, the Acquisitions department is not liable,
neither is the Library, nor the University! I have successfully
returned materials asking them so send me a "call tag" from UPS, or a
check for the shipping costs--otherwise their materials will go in the
dumpster. So far with this policy, I've had no problems.

It is also wise to report them to your state Dept of Consumer Affairs,
your local BBB and the U.S. Postal inspector. All of these addresses
are online and easy to find. It's the only way that we can cramp their
style.

I received a call very similar to what you have described. How can I
contact them?

Subject: Another Business Directory Scam
Has anyone on the list have any dealings with New Limit Publishing out
of New York, NY? They sent to my library an invoice for an American
Business to Business Communications Directory (now they say it is a
$389 CD). We never ordered this, but they insist that we pay for the
two year listing - another thing we never ordered.
We have had difficulty from other "Publishers" such as Target, IBD, and
many others too long to mention.
Thanks for any feed back.
