We looked into doing this with an annual monographs budget of around
$700,000.00, including STO and a few serials. They would have had to
add two staff to just take care of us and they declined. At a larger
institution, this might be feasible if they already have a large staff
in place. The discounts that could be garnered with an internal
relationship are very attractive.
The other problem for them is tracking orders after they are placed.
They were really reluctant to undertake that too.

No, [They do not do it for us] but my opinion is that it's a bad idea.
Next thing you know your department may be gone!

CSUS uses the campus bookstore only for rush, or reserve book room
purchases. We do not receive a discount from our campus bookstore.

No. Our university bookstore does not want to take the time that is
necessary to track some of our problem orders. We are much more
thorough. A lot of our orders would just be cancelled if they had to
go through our bookstore.
