Subject: Inquiry regarding U.S. based vendors of foreign language and
bilingual materials

Hello,
Partly for my own curiousity, I am writing to inquire whether your
library:
*Purchases foreign language/bilingual materials from U.S. based vendors
(ie. have Federal Employee Identification Number or Social Security
Number)? If so, which ones?
*Do these vendors sell foreign-language/bilingual children's materials
too?
*What selection tools do these vendors provide?
*Do these vendors provide any cataloging/transliteration services (ex.
book cards) for the foreign- language/bilingual materials that they
sell? If so, describe. What are the costs for these services?
Incidentally, I work for a large public library that quickly is trying
to get its foreign-language/bilingual materials to its patrons and I am
interested in learning as much as possible about the acquisition of
foreign language publications in similar settings.
Please reply to me directly or to the list, if anyone is interested.
Thanks in advance for your input.
Sincerely,
Cherlajos_at_aol.com
