Subject: Opinion question -- "Best Books"

Dear Acquisitions Colleagues,

Several of us in our library have been exploring the merit of two
academic-library
bibliographies, "Best Books for College Libraries" and "Best Books for
University
Libraries." These sets are published in multi-volume book format and
also in
CD-ROM by "Best Books" in Temecula, CA. We are considering this as a
possibility to pick up where the 1988 "Books for College Libraries"
leaves off.

Have any of used either the College of University Libraries version of
"Best Books?"
If yes, how would you rate it?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts you may have on this.

Best,
Antje
