Subject: Substitutions on OS Reports

When a vendor reports that a cloth edition of a book is out of stock, we
would like to have them substitute a paperback edition if that is
available.

Vendors say that they cannot set up this type of automatic response
except for books that are out of print. This leaves me with book orders
not being filled even though a paperback edition is readily available.
Has anyone experienced this problem and found a way to get the OS
report to automatically substitute the order to another available edition?
Do you have any vendors who have found a way to do this?

Thank you,
Debra Thomson
