Subject: World Data Publishers -RE: Business Directory Scams

[Ed. Note: This is a company some people advise you not to do business
with - see ACQNET
http://www.infomotions.com/serials/acqnet/02/0029.shtml
as well as other recent messages about business directory scams in the
ACQNET archives]

Recently the library I work for has been getting calls from World Data
Publishers claiming we own them payment for a listing that they say I
agreed to. When I tell them we don't want their product, they say payment
is for the listing, and that our payment can close the account. I checked
on the Better Business Bureau web site and World Data Publishers has been
reported 60 times in the past 12 months. There is a more detailed description
of what has happened to me at this link:
http://search.buffalo.bbb.org/nis/newsearch2.asp?ID=1&ComID=0041000012000331
[Ed. Note: you may be asked to retype some letters in order to access
the site for security purposes]

But what I was wondering is has this happened to anyone else? And if
so, how did you resolve the issue?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Brad Vogler
