ACQNET: Selection and Ordering via a Bookfair

Subject: Selection and Ordering via a Bookfair

We are a medium-sized public library system with 6 branches and
a bookmobile. Our director wants to host a book fair, inviting
vendors to set up displays and allowing all staff members/employ-
ees an opportunity to see and select books for our library.
I am curious as to whether other libraries do selection in this
manner and if there are any rules or guidelines that you have
in place for handling this method of ordering or for dealing
with the vendors who do come to set up display.
