Subject: spring-loaded trucks

Hi all,

Before we invest in some highly expensive expenditures, I thought I'd
ask here whether anyone uses spring loaded trucks for mail deliveries
(especially of packages). This is especially pertinent to documents,
both state & federal.

I have located one model, made by Datamation
 ( http://www.pc-security.com/mail-systems/ds_carts1.html ) which
appears to be what we're looking for. But just in case there's some
nifty truck or company other than Datamation which will resolve our
woes, I'd like to ask here first.

Our problem comes from the multitude of packages in various sizes that
come to us in a wire basket cart. As any one who has wrestled a package
out of it knows, this is not the optimum cart, especially if the
delivery person likes to put in boxes that just barely fit into the
basket in question, which means scraped & sprained fingers, strained
backs, and many headaches in trying to resolve the situation.

So ... any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance, and I'd be happy
to share the results if there is general interest expressed.
