Subject: Another directory scam?
Content-transfer-encoding: 8BIT
Our library director received a fax that was sent over the weekend from
Statewide CD Publications, Inc. It is an invoice for the 2002 Statewide
Communications package and a letter saying they are sorry for delays in
receiving the 2002 edition of the Statewide Business CD Directory and instead
of waiting for the CD to arrive we could get web access using the code on the
invoice. This is similar to the phone calls we have all gotten for the
business directories, but this one a web/CD product and the information was
sent via fax. Has anyone gotten anything like this? Will they send the CD
even if I don't respond? Their phone number was cut off the bottom of the
fax, but I'm not sure I want to call them anyway.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
