Subject: RE: ACQNET: Percentage of Budget for Videos
We have a fund for AV. It is spent on a first-come basis. When that is
spent, we pay for videos out of the department's book budget.

Subject: ACQNET: Buying AV from the Book Budget
Our academic library book budget is divided into subject allocations, and
we have been receiving so many faculty requests for videos that we need
to establish a policy regarding media purchases. We are thinking that
allowing up to 20% of a subject's book budget allocation for media would
be reasonable, but would appreciate some input from other libraries on this
issue. If you have a policy limiting non-book purchases from the book budget,
what is it and how did you decide on a cutoff point?
