I got this call a few days ago and directed them to the business
office. This scam almost got me when I worked at Moslow's in Powhatan,
but I caught on just in time. These, and the "toner cartridge" people
just never give up!

Per Rick's APB: I received a variation on this scam. The caller
repeatedly identified herself by name, as if to reassure me of the
legitimacy of the call. She read me a listing for our library that was
incorrect. She asked me if it was accurate, I said no and asked if this
call would trigger her to send me the directory. She said no. With further
questioning, she said the directory was now 'online,' so indeed she was
correct that they would not be sending me a product. I asked if they were
sending me ANYTHING and she said that I would be receiving an invoice for
[an amount over US$100] for the listing. I told her we were not
interested and not to send me an invoice. When I repeated that
request a second time, she hung up on me. I had the sense the call was
from off-shore.
