KSU Libraries uses VOYAGER, an Endeavor product, which has a very good
Acquisitions module. We are quite please with it. The software uses
Microsoft Access to pull reports and we have a person on staff skilled
in Access who pulls those reports. If you have any specific questions, I
would be happy to talk to you or correspond via email.

Hi,
I am also very interested in software to track acquisitions. We use
Voyager but will move to a different software for acquisitions starting in
July. I would appreciate any advice about what works well.

Thanks

David - I suggest looking at something simple already
created in Filemaker Pro from any one of the jillions
of developers out there...and having it modified to
meet your needs more precisely.

One nice thing about FMP is its cross platform (win / mac os).
Any developer can modify something you've had tailored
for your needs should they change or need to be refined
in the future.

This website http://www.fmfiles.com/ has lots of trial
software and freeware designs that could be tailored.
Expect though to spend some time looking / downloading
to see which one might be the nearest fit for you.

Addendum to my Filemaker Pro post:

I just noticed the program has a pre-existing
template specifically designed for library acquisitions
included. It's quite basic but could be modified to
include any fields one desires.

A trial copy of FMP 5.5 is available here

Subject: Windows based Acquisitions software?

Hello:

Can anyone recommend a decent Windows based acquisitions software
program for tracking purchases and fund accounting that might be good
enough for a medium sized academic library? Our needs are very
straightforward. We don't have multiple branches, for example.

We have a DYNIX automated system and the Acquisitions module is awful
in terms of easily generating reports, etc.

We used to use Bibbase, but I don't think it is around anymore.

Baker and Taylor has a product call Libris 2020, or something like
that, but I can't find any colleges using it, and when I talked to the
company, they seemed puzzled that I was even asking.

Thanks for your time.
