Subject: Serials cancellations

We are overspent in our journals budget and will probably have to cancel
some subscriptions. We'd like our departments to review their journal
subscriptions, and to offer up for cancellation any that are not essential.
Before we distribute the lists to the departments, we'll try to determine
which are "basic" or "core" journals by subject, using Magazines for
Libraries 2000 by Katz. If you can suggest another selection tool which may
be more geared for academic libraries, I'd appreciate it. Please reply
