SwetsnetNavigator increases medical and health offerings with Lippincott
Williams & Wilkins titles
Swets Blackwell announced today the addition of 53 of Lippincott Williams &
Wilkins' electronic journal titles to SwetsnetNavigator, their electronic
journal service. Seventy-six highly respected publishers of scholarly
information are now participating in the service, which has seen its title
list double over last six months alone.
Philadelphia-based Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW) is a leading
publisher of health information for physicians, nurses, clinicians and
students. LWW provides essential health information in print and electronic
formats. LWW is a unit of Wolters Kluwer International Health and Science,
a leading global provider of authoritative information and services in the
fields of medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and the sciences.
Mary Fugle, Director of Library & Trade Relations at LWW, commented: " We
are pleased to work with Swets Blackwell to provide access to our online
journals via SwetsnetNavigator. We feel this partnership greatly benefits
our users by providing additional access and ease of use." More information
about LWW can be found by visiting their website: www.lww.com.
Yvonne Campfens, Director of Publisher Relations & Marketing at Swets
Blackwell, added: "We are delighted to have LWW participate in
SwetsnetNavigator. The addition of their important electronic titles
significantly enhances the amount of medical and health science information
available to users of the service."
SwetsnetNavigator offers online access to over one million full-text
articles, as well as abstracts and tables of contents from 16,000 journals.
Due to the steady increase of electronic journal titles available in the
service, SwetsnetNavigator has seen a 50% growth in searches over the last
six months. The service receives 3.5 million hits per month and has
approximate reach to 13 million users. Nearly 4,900 full-text titles can be
accessed via SwetsnetNavigator (this figure includes approximately 1,100
Elsevier Science journals which are currently only accessible for authorised
NESLI users of SwetsnetNavigator, whose institutions are also subscribers to
ScienceDirect). Further information on the growing number of titles
available in the service can be found by visiting www.swetsnetnavigator.com.
