I got a call yesterday on this, too. I told him I DIDN'T want the
directory, DIDN'T want our name in it, and he got quite ticked off, and
sounded it. He asked why I wouldn't want our name, and I told him that I
wasn't subscribing to a scam.
He then got somewhat verbally abusive. This is NOT a company that I would
want to have any association with.

The same thing happened to our acquisitions staff within the last month. (I
tried to search COLLIB archives for the discussion on this topic, without
luck.) Are we obliged to keep and pay for the directory, which we received
a couple weeks ago? Surely this would not stand up as a legitimate
contract.

I received a call yesterday asking me to verify the information for the
business directory. Unknowingly, I gave the information and the person
very quickly said that by providing us with this information you have
agreed to purchase our directory for $350 (or something close to
this). When I realized what was going on and told her not to add me to the
directory, she hung up.
