Subject: Lockable book trucks
Hi all,
I'm sure I can't be the only one having this particular problem: We have
experienced episodes of people removing videos & CDs from our "in process"
shelf & playing them elsewhere in the library. This wouldn't be such a big
problem if it weren't for the fact that the material doesn't get returned to
the shelf.
So far, it looks like nothing has been stolen, but we decided to try to
control this material in some way. I located a lockable book truck with clear
plexiglass, so that you can see what is inside. Unfortunately, neither of the
vendors carry the book truck any longer. Does anyone have any suggestions on
where to look for this truck?
We tried to order from Gaylord & Highsmith. I haven't found the product in
any other catalogs. Thanks for any suggestions you may have. And yes,
suggestions on what to do other than locking a truck would be helpful.
