Regional Manager Eastern US-Library Services
A unique opportunity to join the Library Services sales staff at ingenta
inc., the world's largest web search and delivery service for research
articles. ingenta inc., a fast growing provider of Internet services at the
forefront of web based publishing, is located in Cambridge MA.
We are seeking a highly motivated self-starter to be instrumental in
achieving ingenta's goal of serving as the primary source for online
information for research librarian's and their patrons by:
· Developing and maintaining professional, long-term relationships with
academic/corporate librarians with the objective of introducing them to the
full suite of ingenta information services.
· Developing and sustaining highly effective links with key ingenta staff to
ensure that the ingenta service offerings coincide with the information
needs of the library markets ingenta serves.
· Achieving quarterly and annual sales targets to meet ingenta's overall
revenue objectives from library web gateway sales, document delivery
agreements and other library related services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Effectively researching, maintaining and managing a geographic territory
of library prospects/customers while creating new opportunities to
sell/promote ingenta services to this market.
2. Making sales visits to prospective and existing customers according to a
structured and focused plan to expand ingenta's base of business
3. Maintaining regular contact with all existing customers by annual visits,
phone, e-mail and promotional mailings.
4. Preparing and submitting proposals to prospective customers while working
effectively with ingenta teams to manage all the accompanying correspondence
to secure the new business.
5. Attending appropriate industry exhibitions/conferences in North America
for information gathering purposes, networking with customers/prospects, and
to assist ingenta colleagues in staffing the exhibition booth where
applicable.
6. Providing regular creative input into the sales process to ensure it is
operating to maximum effect at all times.
7. Maintaining accurate and current database of records of library customer
contact detailing sales and service related activity.
If you have two or more years experience selling on-line technical solutions
to the library market, a high energy level, the ability to work
independently, and excellent verbal and written communications skills, we
want to hear from you!! Familiarity with library market sales is required. A
BA/BS or equivalent is required and a MLS is a plus.
