ASSISTANT COLLECTION SERVICES LIBRARIAN, Tenure Track

Qualifications:
Required: MLS degree from an ALA-accredited program; ability to be trained
in collection management and acquisitions in an on-line environment;
ability to problem-solve; interest or experience in supervision; excellent
interpersonal skills; flexibility in prioritizing multiple projects.
Desired: Knowledge of integrated library systems; computer literate; able
to work in group settings; comfortable in a culturally diverse environment;
library experience; evidence of leadership potential; additional graduate
degree.
Responsibilities: As an ENTRY-LEVEL LIBRARIAN and in conjunction with the
Department Head, provides leadership and support for monographic and
serials units. After training, will assume responsibility for supervision
of the monographic unit. Participates in coordination of the day-to-day
activities of the department. Provides administrative support to
departmental staff. Must be able to demonstrate ability to meet the
requirements for faculty promotion and tenure: librarianship; professional
knowledge; research, publication and creative activity; and service.
Special projects as assigned.
