I'm fine with a shutdown as well, and I also wouldn’t sign up via a Google group. Thanks for doing this for the community for many years.

Hi Eric,
I'm fine with you shutting down the list. I wouldn't sign up via a Google Group.

Subject: [NGC4LIB] ngc4lib mailing list adminstratativia
This is a bit of NGC4Lib mailing list administratativia. Specifically, I am very seriously thinking of shutting down the list.
The University of Notre Dame hosts NGC4Lib using the venerable LISTSERV software, but the University is discontinuing support for LISTSERV and offering to migrate NGC4Lib to Google Groups. And for a number of reasons I’d like to bow owning NGC4Lib:
1. First of all, I don’t like Google Groups.
For example, Google already knows about us. It don’t
need to know more.
2. I seriously believe NGC4Lib has served its purpose.
The phrase “next generation library catalog” became
part of our nomenclature — more or less, and the
whole thing eventually evolved into “discovery”
systems.
3. There is simply not very much traffic here.
For all of these reasons, I would like to discontinue the mailing list, unless anybody wants to take up the banner. Does anybody have some suggestions?
