The Humboldt State University Library, located in the beautiful redwood
region of northwestern California, has an opening for a Metadata Cataloging
Librarian. This is a tenure-track position starting July 2016.



Duties of the position include: original and adaptive cataloging in all
formats; developing, coordinating, and maintaining authority control
processes; ensuring quality and accuracy of bibliographic and authority
data in the integrated library system; providing leadership, training, and
direction to staff in the unit; working collaboratively to develop and
document procedures related to acquisitions, cataloging, authority control,
and processing of materials; advising management and colleagues on the
establishment of policies for bibliographic control of library materials;
leading in the management of HSU’s institutional repository, Humboldt
Digital Scholar, and establishing workflows and standards for new digital
projects and services.
