The advantage I'm seeing to VUfind, right now at least, [ though I'm
intrigued by a Ruby/Rails-based catalog ] is the path is a bit more well
trodden ...there are Koha libraries with VUfind in production, whereas
Blacklight integration still seems a bit experimental. I've done some work
with both Rails and PHP ...enough to know authoritatively how to make
things worse anyway.
So I think to your last point, with regards to existing knowledge, VUfind
has the advantage as far as getting support, tips ...etc.
