Programmer/Analyst I
The Dartmouth College Library seeks a programmer/analyst to join its
Digital Library Technologies Group, which develops and maintains the
technical infrastructure of Dartmouth's digital library initiatives and
services. The selected individual will hone their programming skills on a
variety of digital library applications under the guidance of senior
programmers, but will primarily contribute to the ongoing development of
the Ambra open source e-journal platform. This platform is part of a new
publishing endeavor called Elementa: Science of the Anthropocene. This is
a term position ending December 31, 2016.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree in computer/information science or
engineering, or the equivalent in education and experience; 2-4 years
programming experience; demonstrated ability to work with minimal
supervision; proficiency with Java, Javascript, Perl, and the LAMP stack.
The successful candidate will have a good grounding in XML. Experience
with the Tomcat server, Hibernate, Struts, and/or Spring frameworks are
also highly desirable. Oracle database experience is a plus.
RANK AND SALARY: Salary is commensurate with experience and
qualifications. Full benefits package including 22 vacation days;
