most people can locate collection strengths and where they are we did this also for years off line. U can search this online like most people do already. And then send an email and ask if u cant make the time n effort urself as a researcher to go like many others continue to do in research collections still. You missing the points I am making, how do I know where something is available. Are you seriously expecting users to contact ALL libraries they know of in the world asking a question? Are you expecting a local librarian to me to do so on my behalf? I as a user has to put in some effort to search in likely places for information. Most cost effective searching for me is google, librarians require more effort and money to ask individually. The type of enquiry I normally have stumps 80%+ probably of librarians and archivists.
