Where: Place: JW Marriot - Maurepas Room

Please join us for an informal discussion of Patron Initiated Acquisitions (PIA). Our lead-off speaker will be Keith Powell, Head of Acquisitions at the University of California, Irvine. Mr. Powell will summarize the pilot PIA program implemented at UCI this past year. He will describe the strategy used, share the pilot's results, and identify any changes or adjustments made during the pilot. He will also discuss potential future plans for PIA at UCI at both the local and consortia levels. Finally, he will address the potential of PIA to transform his duties as an Acquisitions manager. There will be ample time for questions, discussion, and information sharing immediately following Mr. Powell's remarks.
The discussion will be followed by a short business meeting. The current vice-chairs will take over as co-chairs at the end of the meeting, and the Interest Group will need two new co-vice-chairs, to serve in that role until Annual 2012, when they will take over as co-chairs for the following year. If you are interested in being considered as a new co-vice-chair, please contact the current co-chairs elect either before the meeting or at the meeting.
Thank you.
2010/2011 co-chairs:
