So I'm very uninformed and a newbie, experience-wise, to the semantic web.
But I wondered if there were a visual semantic-net viewing application that
would allow a person to browse through the BTs and NTs in the syndetic
structure of LCSH. Knowing that LCSH has been ported to SKOS, and having
looked at what import formats mind-map software such as PersonalBrain,
MindManager, and FreeMind support, I reasoned that one might be able to
convert SKOS to OWL, and import that OWL into one of the mind-maps. Of
course, the LCSH file that I had overwhelmed the SKOS2OWL tool. And I
suspect that OWL may require a level of precision in relationships that is
not met by LCSH's imprecise and inconsistent topics. Has anyone else been
down this avenue? I know I I don't understand the logical requirements of
SKOS as compared to those of OWL.
