Position Title: Instruction and Emerging Technologies Librarian, Online Learning and Libraries.
Position Type: Non-tenure; 12 month librarian-track faculty. Rank and Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Special Note:
Qualifications: MLS/MLIS from an ALA accredited program; minimum two years related experience in an academic library; demonstrated knowledge of technology trends, standards, and issues in academic libraries and higher education; demonstration experience using various communication/instruction tools and mobile technologies to provide instruction or research services for users of varying skill levels; demonstrated ability to provide reference and instruction services in an academic library setting; strong service orientation with excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills. Preferred: Demonstrated implementation of the concepts and goals of information literacy; experience with developing and teaching in-person library/technology content; experience with Blackboard, Wimba, or equivalent learning management system to deliver hybrid or asynchronous instructional content; significant knowledge or experience with management of an Integrated Library System, preferably Innovative Interfaces Inc.; knowledge of technologies for digital libraries, including OpenURL, Dublin Core, MARC, Web 2.0 and etc.; experience or knowledge with digital content management system or institutional repository system.
Duties: Member of the Research Information Services team and a member of the Digital Services and Technology Support team. Provide reference services in-person and online and participate in the embedded librarian program; support information literacy programming and continue the university's goal of providing a technologically rich educational environment. Participate in the technical support of the library's growing array of digital collections, online services and integrated Library System; and assist the University Librarian/Director of Libraries Operations on the maintenance and strategic planning for the library's technology infrastructure.
