Publishers' revenge, I guess. They are always ahead of us
with their tricks, to lead catalogers astray so their
books will be harder to find - for readers ought to buy them...

Depends. In a browsable title index, an annoyance, in
a keyword search, hardly, in record displays, mildly
irritating.
