Yeah, the subject heading search is a bit half-arsed, but who knows
how they'll deal with it in the future. They might be working on some
better (there's that word again!) version of it and release it when it
blows our minds (hence the current poor placement). Also, playing
around with the advanced interface yielded some good results ;

 I even found some books on deep beach ecology that neither WorldCat,
local library *nor* normal Google searches found. I'm impressed. Can't
wait for eBooks and more books entered into it so I can hook it
straight into my eReader, however I fear I'll loose a lot of money
that way ...
