See, this indicates to me you have an entirely different perspective on
this conversation than me!
Both 'sides' in this conversation believe in the importance of
semantically structured metadata. If the 'programmer side' didn't, we
wouldn't bother having the conversation, we'd just ignore it! If we
didn't need semantically structured metadata, it wouldn't be so
important to replace the MARC/ISBD/AACR2 jumble with something that
actually _worked_ to efficiently create semantically structured metadata
for software systems.
But in fact, we all here agree it is important. (And of course many of
us agree that full text indexing is ALSO useful where available, and
should be made available in as many places as possible. )
