matter as it sounds. Connexion will contain a number of components
(such as the macro language) developed by a variety of companies and
consultants etc. If any of these don't support a new platform (because
that product is no longer being developed, company went out of
business, etc.), it has implications for the entire product.

I suspect this is why the original PfW which was released in 1996 saw
no upgrades even years later.

I agree the situation sucks. But assuming my guess is correct, it is
an inherent part of using components developed by others.
