Sorry, but I am going to continue this thread a little further. I have not yet posted bib records as Kyle requested, though we ought to be able to. I do need to consult with folks here on the linked data format. We do output xmlmarc for various internal projects.
But there is one more thing. It is very annoying that OCLC, which is trying to force member libraries to have to catalog on Worldcat, has NO PLANA to support Windows 7 64 bit OS for their Connexion software. That is a real pain in the neck, so I have written the following complaint to the OCLC records use email list and I hope others will complain as well. I realize this client is not relevant to next gen catalogs but the output is, and the restrictions OCLC wants to enforce are.
To: OCLC Record Use Policy Council
I want to express our extreme dismay and dissatisfaction with support for the cataloging functions on the OCLC system. New PCs have begun to ship with Windows 7 Operating System. We, like many other libraries, are currently making plans to move our staff and public workstations to Windows 7 64 bit. Our catalogers use the Connexion PC client to catalog on OCLC. I called OCLC support today and was told the Connexion browser based client works with Windows 7 64 bit, the Connexion PC base client does not and there are no plans to make the PC client compatible with the new 64 bit OS.
We are paying annual support costs to OCLC. OCLC is claiming that libraries must use OCLC Cataloging or they will financially penalize them, as they have done with Michigan State University, yet OCLC does not even plan to support Windows 7 64 bit? CJK and other vernacular cataloging is not even supported in the browser client, and there are other features used in day to day work here. I think it is outrageous that OCLC will move against member libraries that want to use another cataloging service and they won't even commit to support for this OS upgrade that will be needed by many if not most of the member libraries.
If OCLC does not have the resources to support OS upgrades why do they have resources to write acquisitions and circulation modules? Is the expectation that you will require members to use those modules even if they do not meet the workflow needs? If OCLC will not support Connexion client features on Windows 7 64 bit why would members NOT look for alternative sources of cataloging records?
When will OCLC provide support for the Connexion PC client features for Windows 7 64 bit Operating System?

In case you haven't seen it, there's the start of a list at:
http://ckan.net/group/bibliographic
I know of numerous files that aren't yet listed there, and I will try
to find some time this weekend to add them in, especially those in the
Internet Archive. I believe that anyone can edit with an OpenID, so
please add to the list if you can.
