open source software and libraries

Working with a few friends -- specifically, a business planner and a marketer -- I have been closely examining at the world of open source software and libraries. Through the process we have put together a number of assertions and placed them on a thing called IdeaScale, above. The tool is easy to use:

  1. read an assertion
  2. if agree with the assertion then vote thumbs up
  3. if you don't agree, then vote thumbs down

The whole thing includes only 17 "questions" and you may find the trend interesting. For bonus points, add your own assertions, comment on existing assertions, and tell your friends.
