Has anyone seen this in action? I am wondering what they do as a user  
key... unless I'm mistaken, you need a key to use the API, or am I  
reading the wrong documentation? Perhaps they created a key that  
represents the application?

"API requests require the addition of an access key, provided by OCLC.  
Include your assigned key as a "wskey" parameter in each request to  
the API, as shown in the example links on this page."
