Would it be useful to create/identify a subset of LCSH that consists  
of "one-facet" topics, that is the headings that are simple, not  
compound? Those are more likely to be linkable to other communities'  
topics, and could give as an easier playground for trying out the  
linking. That would eliminate the name and geographic headings, I  
believe, since those in their "pure" form are found in the name file  
only. It would give us top-level topics, not a bad place to start.
