The assumption that it is *your* system that must implement "Linked
Data" goes to the heart of this question.
To start with, as TBL says, just get it out there in whatever form you
have it - those that will find the data more useful in another form
are the ones motivated to transform it in to Linked Data. Don't
replace what you have, enhance it with Linked Data versions.

Precisely - current systems could help by making it a bit easier to
publish what they currently have, but it's not the show stopper that
some seem to think it is.
