FRBR has persons and corporate bodies as entities, and the "authorness"
or "publisherness" is a relationship:
Corporate entity A
is publisher of
Book X
Personal entity MM
is author of (or editor of, or illustrator of....)
Book Y
Most of these relationships are found in the long list of "roles" used
by MARC and included in RDA in appendix I.
FRAD deals with identity control, but the way it does that fits your
"bizarre" description. FRAD considers the identifier for a person or
corporate body to be an entity, related to the entity for the person or
corporate body. I'm just not able to understand their thinking and would
love to hear what it is they have in mind.
