Actually, I believe that what I see in World *are* work records. But if 
I go to Herman Melville in WorldCat identities, I get exactly what I'm 
looking for. (http://orlabs.oclc.org/Identities/lccn-n79-6936) This is 
what I think users are probably looking for when they type in an 
author's name -- information about the author qua author, not every 
publishing product related to him.
