Jack
We don't have it, but SS gave us a presentation.
SS harvests your holdings and also ingests indexes
from various database vendors - with their agreement
and cooperation. Your library then has its own "google"
of licensed material and local holdings. This should be
faster and better than federated searching. SS house the
database, which is orders of magnitude larger than
a local catalogue. SS constantly negotiate with vendors,
they told us, deepening their metadata store.
The University of Sydney is a Beta site. Maybe somebody
from U. Sydney would like to comment?
regards
Mark

Subject: [NGC4LIB] Summon, from Serials Solutions
Has there been discussion on the list of the Summon library interface,
From Serials Solutions? Does anybody have it, or have opinions on how
well it will solve our issues with providing access to resources?
