We've seen that the book-linking features in LibraryThing for
Libraries—recommendations, other editions and tag-based lists of
books—get used 2-6% of the time a book detail page is shown. So,
basically, LTFL is increasing the "velocity" of movement through the
catalog by that percent. It's higher for public libraries than
academic, and it changes *A LOT* depending on where LTFL is placed and
how it's shown.
I have no idea if it's leading to circulation—LTFL has no visibility
into that system—but I hope they're getting books that meet their
needs better anyway.
