The lighter side of Ugliness of MARC

I recently listened to a webcast recently on ONIX.  Which should, at
least be good for a laugh.  As, Jim Weinheimer said:

>the codes are completely incoherent to 99% of the human race, and
probably 99.9% of programmers. Many simply won't use our records because
the codes themselves are completely outmoded in today's newer formats.
They would just as soon take an ONYX record.

ONIX is written in XML and can be tagged correctly with either words or
matching numeric tags.  The speaker expressed his opinion, quite early
in the webcast, that if one were going to be serious about ONIX they
needed to take the time to memorize the numeric codes.

You gotta crack a smile on that one!
