I already have a bunch of records, I'd be happy to share.

mamf_at_wotan:~$ du -s opt/oai_dc/oa/
17385384 opt/oai_dc/oa/

  I have

mamf_at_wotan:~/opt/oai_dc/oa$ ls -lt | grep -c ^
902

  901 archives.

I am collecting these for AuthorClaim. I will work in the next few
weeks to feed them into AuthorClaim.

I am also happy to share sources dataset---from DOAR, with some
enhancements---and scripts, in Perl. Just authorize this key:

mamf_at_wotan:~$ cat .ssh/id_rsa.pub
ssh-rsa AAAAB3NzaC1yc2EAAAABIwAAAQEA27mF7IXkQbGT/j/d+7pYbKufKZNAT9gf1/gt9YoQzJE2///jaD/SGsqW6nc/5Uw64uqycnkmAXhnRsW5ib8L+0HdrcWAu/j+xiEx6XFh8kcwT1kS2MDVCUttNXSG3MTQ3YHDVH8TtGHiz98GiSxbSVHrko1YpEGZOdRwjp30kEZ1WsU44fg62dL4f1FJu4y4lUM/BjQdxDz5keJPLIVw98a7bBSm1hROitmSQVZlbPpEBcDPmdnpuDmfHoE8zFAXCquA8PytVKSPJ0lBEMQGwm3qShU6zqtV8gBkLNEqpU4ZRIUKsMAlZ+fJ7Wcm0+K+ukOvCM0BBr7SbiTvxmJEqQ== mamf_at_wotan.liu.edu

If they fund something, it will be short-lived, and make the project
more difficult to sustain in the long run. RePEc does not have any
funding, and runs just fine with a much more elaborate set of
services than you would be providing here.

You can rent a server for $100 a month, and do the development with
a bunch of guys in your leisure time. I'd be happy to provide you
with backup. Once I get a replacement for wotan, I just buy a
terabyte disk for $100, that will do the trick. I can also give you
a domains foo.openlib.org, and provide you with accces to the
openlib.org DNS server to manage your records.

As regards to better, I have numerous ideas. Compatibility with ariw
and AuthorClaim would be one thing, transparency in construction,
replication and usage would be others. I can elaborate on this
later. I still have a hangover from last night's software freedom
day party in the city ;-)

Note also that Bielefeld are still running BASE. Getting them
involved would probably be a good idea.
