Google has also gotten a great deal of support from the library  
community -- at least as much (or more) support than flack. Obviously,  
the participating libraries are very much FOR the Google Book product.  
Even the ALA statement proposed that the settlement should be agreed  
by the judge, although it suggested adding some oversight for the  
future. From what I can tell, a good many academic institutions look  
forward to providing the Google Books subscription service to their  
users. In fact, Google is offering a deal that no one anticipates  
refusing, although many fear that they will find the price onerous.
