Are there any truly "black box" integrated library systems being used in university libraries? By black box, I mean an ILS where either the internal data structure is kept hidden from customers and/or where there is *no* API outside the vendor supplied clients for getting at the data -- e.g. no Oracle listener, no web services, etc.
I'm currently working on a LITA presentation about getting data out of the ILS and on to a handheld device, which is why I'm asking the question. While I know a lot about my ILS and a little bit about a couple of other ILSs, most of the others are somewhat of a cipher to me and I don't want to make too many assumptions.
