I have my pet gongs to bang, and one of them is for librarians to go
from being the storage house of knowledge to the curator of said
knowledge. For example, one thing the future of knowledge management
desperately need but haven't got is curators of persistent identifiers
that computer systems world-wide can use and trust. Create a network
of such, and the world could once again be reliant and dependent on
the library goodness.
